Peer Parent Specialist, Children's Services

Job Description

A parent peer support specialist is a provider who is parenting or has parented a child experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral health disorders and can articulate the understanding of their experience with another parent or family member

Job duties include working with parents of teens and children receiving services from the Cahaba Center

Peer support specialists provide structured, scheduled activities that promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, development of natural supports and maintenance of community living skills.

Prerequisites

High school diploma, computer literacy skills, and a valid AL driver's license.
